Racing Objectives

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Peter Lanz for giving me the chance to prove myself in the Sports 2000 Series and to prove I can run up front. I would also like to thank my very good friend Gugu Zulu for noticing my potential, helping and grooming me throughout the season and helping to overcome the challenges that this class holds. Last but not least I would also like to thank my competitors I competed against for great and very competitive seasons with lots of tense but satisfying moments.

2003 was a very successful season for our team (Peter Lanz Motorsport), winning the drivers championship and top 6 finishes from other drivers within our team.

I'm very grateful for the opportunities that has been presented to me and therefore promise to take full advantage of new and up and coming opportunities. One opportunity I'm hoping to have is to participate in the South African Formula Ford Championship. Once again competition is very tough considering the amount of experience the competitors have and the duration they have been driving for.

My main objective is to try and gain sponsorship so that I can contest in Formula Ford, Formula Renault or any other single seater racing overseas. I would like to do well enough to find a steady and reliable sponsor which will then enable me to race overseas as a very strong and upcoming competitor and ultimately reach Formula 1.

I have recently been presented with an opportunity to compete in a series in Malaysia. As this series is an international one, an International Motorsport License is one of the pre-requisites and in order to qualify for this, a driver must have competed in big-circuit racing for the past 24 months. The fact that I had not competed in this time due to lack of sponsorship was a major obstacle. I must say that Mr. Anthony Taylor of the Formula Vee Association was instrumental in overcoming this hurdle as in no time at all he assisted by arranging a drive for the last 5 events of the season. MSA (Motorsport Souh Africa) was as instrumental along with people like Alan Holm and Peter Hills who arranged for the hiring and preparation of the car. My good friend Trevor Bland who is a serious Formula Vee competitor and his dad Dave were as much part of the assistance as well. I must say that in the short time I have had in Formula Vee, the people are fantastic, the racing is extremely competitive and the series itself is an obvious stepping stone for a driver trying to make it in the tough world of Motorsport. I must also give recognition to Mr. Kevin Jenkins (Formula Vee Association) and also Mr. Jannie Geyser (Formula Vee Association and competitor) for the warm welcome. If you look at my Formula Vee Progress page you will see that in the short time I have been competing in this series I have more than proven that I can be extremely competitive internationally. Please also have a look at the news links on this page for the media exposure that was afforded to me.

This Malaysian opportunity presents me with a great challenge and I am therefore searching desperately for a potential sponsor. The car is a Formula V6 Renault which has a horsepower rating of 370 BHP and is capable of doing 270 KPH. The series itself opens major marketing avenues for the investor in terms of public product awareness and brand building. The media coverage is huge and return on investment proportionally is 10:1 in terms of advertising/media versus investment. In my own capacity I can operate as as a high level representative for the investor. Motorsport is a major commercialised business and investors will soon realise the great advantages of being involved in the world's most illustrious and exciting sport "The World Of Motorsport". Team Building, Corporate Days and Marketing Strategies are just a few to mention. Any potential investor is free to contact me. Please find my details on my Contact Me page.

I intend doing well if given this opportunity which will create exposure and recognition for my racing career and give me an opportunity to hold my sponsors' banners high. I would also like to utilize an opportunity such as this to promote motor racing as a whole, especially to those who do not really understand what it is all about. I believe that it is extremely important to give recognition and exposure to those who support you along the way. I think that through presentations and shows within local communities by organizing displays in local shopping malls and touring around with the team we can achieve this recognition and exposure and more so educate the masses out there who need to gain a deeper understanding about what motor sport entails.

I hope that I have clearly demonstrated my abilities and would like to express that one of my long term goals is to set an example for many people like myself and to demonstrate that through strong dedication, determination, focus and more so, a positive mental attitude, many people, under-privileged or not can achieve the goals they so dream of. In order for us to achieve this and goals like this we require support from larger organizations, as it is difficult to compete on the same level without the correct equipment or technical support. We welcome support from anyone with similar vision.
